Food is the definition of your regional culture, a symbol of various emotions and of course the necessity of life. When talking of food many things associated with it come to our mind. Foods often differ from person to person and in India, every small area has its food taste. India is a heritage of various dishes and every dish in India has a unique taste that’s why it is said food is the taste of your culture.
Prerequisite of life
Food is the basic source of all nutrients like protein, carbohydrates, etc. A balanced meal is the healthiest meal. Skipping meals for one or two days is fine, but skipping them for longer will make your body weak. A nutritious meal should be consumed to sustain growth and allow the body to perform various processes. Food is our necessity and the type of food eaten is according to the climate of that region.
Extreme cold environments require food rich in protein that is non-vegetarian dishes. For hot climates, juicy and cold dishes are rice and fruits are preferred. Food changes with the weather and it is very important to consume food that is suitable to your climate. This is what makes food a prerequisite for life.
Symbol of emotion
Food is the taste of your Culture and therefore dishes are often made according to the situation or according to the mood. When a person is feeling low he usually prefers a light meal, in India Khichdi is preferred for such situations. When a person is feeling really good, he waits for a perfect meal of his choice. In India, everything is related to food, if guests come home something special is prepared, if someone is sick, a healthy meal for them, and many other likewise situations.
Even festivals have their special food. Holi it’s Gunjiya, Diwali it’s sweets and mathri, Pongal it’s Puran Poli and various other dishes. Even for festivals dishes change according to region. Our states also have their food specialties, like Rajasthan, it is Dal Baati Churma, Bihar it’s Lithi Chokha, Tamil Nadu Idli Sambar, etc.

Nowadays, in North India, various South Indian dishes like Vada, and idli sambar can be easily found and in South India, North Indian food like naan, paneer, and roti can be easily found. This is the symbol of the exchange of culture, even nowadays continental food can be found in any part of the country.
